NaPoWriMo Day-2

Surreal Smells like minted grass, levitating through the mildest lawns, flowing with the seamless streams, the lovers whispered "Life was never fair enough, to you, to me, to us" now that all the endeavours are worthy as such, the sun shines brighter than the moon at its best, the petals hugging each other whispered, "We were never as surreal as them" - Sasa

NaPoWriMo Day-1

Limits Not going to places, unaware of the fact that  moving far away to unimaginable distances, swiftly giving up on  all the chases, yearning for the most nonchalant sigh, learning where the bliss lies, rejuvenating symphony, makes one realise, the limitations were never justified - Sasa

Freshly minted - poetry

Who's your "Human" book?

Image
I was cleaning my book shelf last night and I came across this notebook,  seemed unfamiliar, but familiar, maybe because it was old. It was my elder cousin sister's,  I saw her name on the index page, and it was dated back in 2008. I must've been 7 years old then, so I started flipping the pages over to see if I find any surprises, turns out the book didn't disappoint me. I mean what's better than rediscovering things kept in a book decades ago? It was filled with memories, the "good" ones. Maybe that's what we crave for everytime we want to make ourselves feel better. Coming back to the notebook, it was so pretty, with all the chocolate wrappers preserved, wrappers of the chocolates which don't even exist anymore, the wowies, milk treats, perks, bytes and all of those, I was just so overwhelmed by the sight of them. That's when it hit me, that whatever that's preserved in a book stays, for god knows how long, it's like a corroboration of t...

Book review on "Can you keep a secret?" by Sophie Kinsella

Image
Courtesy - Pintrest I've been rooting for collecting all the Sophie Kinsella best sellers since the time I saw the movie - "Confessions of a shopaholic", and anything which includes fashion always has my attention first! And guess what? Almost all her novels consists of a shopping-maniac. But this one is different. Rom-com being her genre, it gives the reader immense joy, of having these mainstream happy endings, the plot of this book is just so similar to some k-drama's, meaning, it's always sugar sweet. This book is about Emma, and her "secrets", all kinds of secrets, some of them being, how she fakes her branded items, how she weighs more than what she tells, how she finds G-strings uncomfortable, how she feeds her annoying colleague's plant with orange juice whenever she talks to much, how she always feels like her boyfriend Connor looks like Ken as in the one in the Barbie movies, how she lies to him about loving jazz when she just can't sta...

Journey from a non-reader to reader

Image
Courtesy - Pintrest       I'm not much of a reader, I mean I don't read at all. Not like I don't know how to read, obviously I do. But it was always that my friends here are having a discussion about how the  Famous five and Hardy boys moves them and how John Green and Paulo Coelho makes them feel in 9th and 10th grade and I'm here like, "What the hell?" Holding my Peppa pig picture book because it's cute and also Geronimo Stilton because, I never really knew why, anyway.  I'm a pathetic speaker too. But hello! I'm also the CEO of making up stories whenever I'm interrogated by my parents, nevermind. I just don't know how to speak, the moment I see a bunch of people, who are all eyes and ears at me, I'm numb. "Stage fear" is what they call it, but I'm the first person to run and find a spotlight, so how am I supposed to call mine a "stage fear"? That doesn't make sense to me. I don't know what is it ...

Book review on Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami

Image
Courtesy - Pintrest Loving someone and not expecting to get it back, sums up this book pretty much and Murakami being the writer, it's surely not a typical love triangle.  K., 25, the protagonist and also the voice of this book, is a primary school teacher. He's in love with Sumire whom he's friends with since they met in college. Love for reading books is the common interest they share. Infact Sumire even drops out of the college to focus on writing. He's somehow attracted to her. Sumire knows this but never feels the same way back. She says she's actually never been in "Love". Sumire is a 22 year old girl who's always dressed up shabby and probably smokes all day having zero interests in impressing boys and always focussed on reading and writing, in short, she's quite messed up. Until one day when she meets Miu. She meets Miu and gets her life all together in a way. She starts dressing up well, has a job, quits smoking, learns different languages...
