This/that - Poem

Eyes

Peering through unimaginable distances

But settling for that one destination

You don't know which one

Where eyes could shut down

And feel

And still see

Sometimes it's better just to elope

From all the bad moments

Even the good ones too

To take that one single minute

To relax

Or even a lifetime to do so

Walking

Even running and panting too

What's the worth of speeding up?

And rushing and striving?

What's the worth of this breathlessness you ask?

Climbing up steep mountains?

Or in a much non-metaphorical sense

Are all your maneuvers worthy enough

You ask?

I'm unaware too,

We all are

But if not restlessness?

Who's fine with just resting?

Starting at the same place

Spending that exclusive lifetime

Dying there too

Living your whole life restricted

Or in a much non-metaphorical sense

That being your only landing place

Are you even living?

Destiny

Constantly showing you terminals

Making you believe

That's where you're destined to be

Yet suddenly when you begin unpursing

All your casualties

And religiously taking over

One by one, bit by bit

But all those emotional imbalances

Hitting all at once

And you not being able to take care of them

Meanwhile you are wondering

Maybe there's more

More to live

Much more to call it a life

And everytime you close your eyes

Hoping to sit back

When your head containing all of that chaos

Thuds the chair when you lean back to loosen yourself

That thudding sound you're processing

Debating if it's the end point

Or the kick off?

And your eyes thrashing out too,

Whether to open up and get some inspiration

Or to stay sealed

And just feel
